UMI Performance designed this torque arm relocation kit for the 1998 to 2002 GM F-body to move the front mounting point of the torque arm off the transmission and protect the tail shaft from damage. The factory tail shaft mounted design works for a stock vehicle but is not built for hard launches. This kit replaces the transmission crossmember with a stronger unit that has a built-in torque arm mount, and it works with virtually any stock style aftermarket torque arm as well as the factory arm. It is built from rectangular mild steel tubing with 0.188 inch mild steel mounting plates and includes all hardware needed for installation. The torque arm mount is machined from 0.250 inch thick mild steel and includes a new clamshell for attaching the torque arm to the new crossmember. Each relocation kit is designed to fit a specific transmission. It is made in the USA and finished in red powder coat.
