The Texas Speed LS3 Turbo Camshaft is a rectangular-port LS grind for stock 6.0L and LS3 engines running a single or twin turbocharger system. Texas Speed designed the profile for turbo combinations that need more airflow, controlled exhaust energy and strong top-end power, with the goal of good boost response in high-horsepower street and race builds.

The 229/242 duration, .629"/.615" lift and 115 degree lobe separation angle give the cam a choppy idle while keeping drivability stable with the right supporting parts. Texas Speed requires PRC/TSP .660" dual valve springs and 5/16" pushrods with this camshaft and recommends a 2,800 rpm or higher stall converter for automatic cars.

    FAQ

What engines does the Texas Speed LS3 Turbo Cam fit?

The LS3 Turbo Camshaft fits stock 6.0L and LS3 engines with rectangle-port cylinder heads that are equipped with a turbocharger system. It is not intended for cathedral-port heads or for supercharged combinations.

What valve springs are required with the LS3 Turbo cam?

Texas Speed requires PRC/TSP .660" dual valve springs and 5/16" pushrods with the LS3 Turbo Camshaft because of its .629" intake lift and turbo duty cycle.

Do I need a stall converter with the Texas Speed LS3 Turbo cam?

Texas Speed recommends a 2,800 rpm or higher stall converter for automatic transmission vehicles running this camshaft.

How does the LS3 Turbo cam differ from the LS3 supercharger cams?

The turbo grind uses 229/242 duration on a 115 degree lobe separation angle, while the Texas Speed LS3 positive displacement cam is 225/244 on 117 LSA and the centrifugal cam is 227/244 on 117 LSA. All three share .629"/.615" lift and the same spring and pushrod requirements.

What is the idle like with the LS3 Turbo camshaft?

Texas Speed rates the LS3 Turbo Camshaft as choppy at idle and classes it as a street performance, mid-range grind for high-horsepower street and race turbo builds.
