The Texas Speed Forged 5.0L Coyote Gen 4 Short Block 12:1 is the Gen 4 member of the Texas Speed in-stock short block program, built ahead of time in a common configuration so it can ship within days. It is designed for high-performance applications including 2021 and newer Ford trucks, starting with a brand new Ford Coyote block and rated by Texas Speed as 1000 horsepower capable at approximately 12:1 compression.
The rotating assembly uses a Ford Performance Boss forged crankshaft with a 3.650" stroke, balanced with Mallory metal, Callies Compstar 4340 H-beam rods at 5.933" and custom JE pistons specified for 12.0:1 at a 3.661" bore with the 3.650" stroke and 5.933" rod, on JE 9310 chromoly wrist pins. ARP main studs and Texas Speed oil squirter block-offs are fitted, and the block is machined, balanced, blueprinted and assembled in-house. Texas Speed offers a Gen 4 head gasket and ARP stud kit and a VDE delete kit with PAC springs as add-ons for 2021 and newer F-150 applications. Break-in oil, an engine stand and a crate are included.

Two selections must be made when ordering. Head Gasket and Studs: none, or the Texas Speed Gen 4 Coyote 2021+ F-150 head gasket and ARP head stud kit. VDE Delete Kit: none, or the Texas Speed Gen 4 Coyote 2021+ F-150 VDE delete kit with PAC springs (springs reuse the stock retainers). Both are optional add-ons to the short block.
Note: Compression ratio may vary slightly depending on final combustion chamber configuration. Texas Speed offers a Gen 3 12:1 short block for Gen 3 Coyote applications.
