The Texas Speed Forged 5.0L Coyote Gen 3 Resleeved Short Block 12:1 with Hoops combines the stock Gen 3 compression ratio with the strongest cylinder package in the Texas Speed in-stock Coyote program. A brand new Ford Coyote block is fitted with Darton sleeves and a proprietary high-strength stainless steel hoop design, and Texas Speed rates the assembly as 1800 horsepower capable with the ability to handle mid-30 psi of boost.
A Ford Performance Boss forged crankshaft with a 3.650" stroke is balanced and paired with Manley 4340 Pro Series I-beam rods at 5.933" with 7/16" ARP2000 bolts and Manley Platinum Series pistons on Manley 9310 chromoly wrist pins, secured with ARP main studs. Texas Speed oil squirter block-offs are installed and every engine is deburred, balanced and blueprinted in-house. This Gen 3 engine suits 2024 and newer Mustangs per Texas Speed but will not work in 2021 and newer Ford trucks, which need the Gen 4 hooped version. Break-in oil, an engine stand and a crate are included.

FAQ
What vehicles does the Texas Speed hooped Gen 3 Coyote 12:1 short block fit?
Texas Speed's fitment data lists the 2018 to 2020 F-150 and 2018 to 2023 Mustang with the Gen 3 Coyote, and the description states it also suits 2024 and newer Mustangs. It will not work in 2021 and newer Ford trucks.
How much boost and power is this short block rated for?
Texas Speed rates the hooped Gen 3 Coyote short block as 1800 horsepower capable and able to handle mid-30 psi of boost, thanks to the Darton sleeves, stainless steel hoops and Manley rotating components.
What is the difference between the 12:1 and 11:1 hooped short blocks?
Both use the same block, sleeves, hoops, crank, rods and Manley Platinum pistons. The 12:1 retains the stock Gen 3 compression ratio, while the 11:1 lowers compression for high-boost or pump-gas flexibility.
Is a 12:1 short block suitable for boost?
Texas Speed describes the 12:1 hooped short block as ideal for big boosted combinations as well as high-output naturally aspirated builds, so the stock compression ratio is not a barrier to boost with proper tuning and fuel.
Are head gaskets, studs and valve springs included?
Only if selected. The Texas Speed Gen 3 Coyote head gasket and ARP head stud kit and the PAC 1281X spring kit (32 springs, reusing stock retainers) are add-ons offered at ordering; choose none for either if not needed.
What ships with the short block?
The kit includes the assembled hooped 12:1 short block, Royal Purple 10W-30 break-in oil, a Ford Modular and Coyote engine stand and a shipping crate, plus any head gasket, stud or spring kit selected.
