The Texas Speed Build Your Own Gen V LT DOD Delete Kit is a configurable package for removing the Displacement on Demand (DOD) or Active Fuel Management (AFM) system from GM Gen V 6.2L LT1, LT4, L86 and L87 engines and 5.3L L83 and L84 engines. Texas Speed designed it as the companion to a non-DOD camshaft swap or one of its cylinder head and camshaft packages.
Each kit ships with four LS2/LS3/LS7 lifter trays, water pump gaskets and a front crankshaft seal. The buyer then selects the DOD plugs or a Katech or TSP DOD delete valley cover, lifters, head gaskets matched to the engine, head bolts or ARP studs, a non-DOD camshaft, the correct VVT cam bolt for the model year, a balancer bolt and the remaining gaskets. A non-DOD camshaft and a custom tune are required to complete the conversion.

Ordering Options
This kit requires a selection in each of the following menus when ordering, and most menus include a 'do not need' option: DOD plugs or valley cover, balancer bolt, exhaust gaskets, head bolts or studs, head gaskets, lifters, non-DOD camshaft, VVT cam bolt, valley cover gasket, cam retainer plate and LT valve cover gasket. Ultra Grey RTV is an optional add-on. Choose the DOD plugs, head gaskets and VVT cam bolt that match the engine code and model year, since 2014-2018 and 2019+ LT engines use different plugs and cam bolts.
Note: A non-DOD camshaft is required to complete this upgrade, either chosen from the camshaft menu or supplied separately.
Note: Tuning is required. A custom tune is necessary after installation to disable AFM and ensure proper engine performance.
Note: Pushrod length should be measured once new valvetrain components are installed to ensure proper fitment.
Note: The manufacturer warranty applies only to Johnson or Comp Cams lifters. Other brand lifters are not covered under a manufacturer warranty.

Is a tune required after a Gen V DOD delete?
Yes. Texas Speed states that a custom tune is necessary after installation so the AFM system is disabled in the calibration and the engine runs properly on the non-DOD camshaft and lifters.
