The Texas Speed 416-427ci 4.000" Stroke Sleeved Gen V LT1/LT4 Long Block is a custom-built stroker long block for Gen V LT engines. Texas Speed fits a new Gen V aluminum block (or a customer-supplied block) with Darton or Power Bore dry sleeves, which Texas Speed states are thicker and have higher tensile strength than the factory GM sleeves, then machines and assembles it in house around a 4.000" stroke crankshaft with the rods and pistons chosen at ordering. Bore options of 4.070" or 4.125" give 416 or 427 cubic inches, and Texas Speed does not recommend going larger than 4.125" with a power adder.
The long block adds Precision Race Components CNC-ported LT1 or LT4 cylinder heads with the Texas Speed .660" dual spring kit, PAC Racing springs and titanium retainers, a Texas Speed LT1 VVT camshaft of your choice, a new GM timing set, Johnson 2110R lifters, Texas Speed hardened chromoly pushrods, GM MLS head gaskets, a new GM wet or dry sump oil pump and rocker arms with a Texas Speed trunnion kit. The AFM/DOD stacks are plugged, lifter trays, cam retainer plate, balancer bolt and head dowels are installed, oil and coolant plugs are in place, and 16 quarts of break-in oil ship with the engine.

Ordering Options
Eight selections are required when ordering: connecting rods, crankshaft (wet or dry sump), piston set (4.070" or 4.125" bore), cylinder head bolts or studs, cylinder heads (PRC LT1 or PRC LT4), rocker arms, cylinder sleeves (Power Bore or Darton) and engine block (new GM Gen 5 LT1 block or customer supplied). Optional mini hoops can be added to the engine. The camshaft choice is confirmed with Texas Speed at ordering. Larger bore sizes and custom piston volumes are available from Wiseco at additional cost and extend build time.
Note: Texas Speed does not recommend running larger than a 4.125" bore with any type of power adder.
Note: Non-stocking Wiseco pistons typically take three to four weeks to build, and the engine build does not start until the pistons are received.
Note: Texas Speed includes break-in oil because most off-the-shelf oils lack the ZDDP additives needed for proper ring seating. Texas Speed recommends Driven HR2 conventional oil after break-in.
FAQ
What engines is the Texas Speed sleeved LT1/LT4 long block for?
It is a Gen V LT long block built on a resleeved GM LT1 aluminum block, suited to LT1 and LT4 applications such as the Camaro SS and ZL1, C7 Corvette and Z06 and CTS-V, depending on the heads, oil pump and crankshaft selected.
What is the difference between the 416 and 427 cubic inch versions?
Bore size. Choosing 4.070" pistons gives 416 cubic inches and 4.125" pistons give 427, both on the 4.000" stroke crankshaft. Texas Speed does not recommend a bore larger than 4.125" with a power adder.
What cylinder heads come on the long block?
Precision Race Components CNC-ported heads with the Texas Speed .660" dual spring kit, PAC Racing springs and titanium retainers. Choose PRC LT1 heads with hollow-stem stainless intake valves or PRC LT4 heads with coated titanium intake valves.
Does the long block include a camshaft and lifters?
Yes. It includes a Texas Speed LT1 VVT camshaft of your choice, Johnson 2110R lifters, Texas Speed hardened chromoly pushrods, a new GM timing set and rocker arms with a TSP trunnion kit. The AFM/DOD stacks are plugged.
Can I supply my own block?
Yes. The engine block selection offers a new GM Gen 5 LT1 block or a customer-supplied block, which Texas Speed then resleeves with your choice of Darton or Power Bore dry sleeves.
Why does Texas Speed include break-in oil?
Texas Speed states that most off-the-shelf oils lack the ZDDP additives needed for proper ring seal during break-in, so 16 quarts of break-in oil ship with every engine. Driven HR2 conventional oil is recommended after break-in.
