This polished CVF Racing BEAST kit switches a Chrysler big block 383, 400, 426 and 440 to an 8 rib serpentine drive for the alternator alone. CVF uses 8 rib pulleys in place of the more common 6 rib layout, stating that the wider belt grips better, stretches less and resists slipping.
It works with an original or aftermarket clockwise rotation water pump, so the existing pump can stay. The kit is offered in variants for a Chrysler round or square back alternator or a GM 1-wire alternator, for 426/440 or 383/400 engines, and with or without premium 8 rib serpentine belts.
