The factory exhaust manifolds on your C6 Corvette are leaving power on the table. This complete full kit pairs Speed Engineering's 2" longtube headers with a 3" off-road X-pipe that connects directly to the factory cat-back location — replacing the restrictive factory exhaust manifolds and catalytic mid-pipes with a free-flowing stainless system designed for strong horsepower and torque gains, improved throttle response, and a deeper, more aggressive exhaust tone. Dyno proven to deliver over 25 rear-wheel horsepower over stock. Engineered with improved ground clearance over competitors — a strong choice for lowered C6 builds.
Built from 304 natural stainless steel with mandrel-bent primary tubes, CNC-machined flanges, merge spikes, and full TIG-welded construction. An optional True Dual Exhaust system is available as an upgrade at checkout.
⚠️ Important Installation Notes:
- Rear downstream O₂ sensors are not used — a check engine light for catalyst efficiency will appear and must be disabled via PCM tuning
- Base/GS models use the 3" X-pipe with 2.75" reducers to factory exhaust
- Z06 models use the 3" X-pipe with 3" connection
- 4L60E transmission — true dual exhaust does NOT work with early 4L60 transmissions. Modification to the passenger side tube is required for 4L60E fitment. Compatible with 6 speed automatic and manual transmissions without modification
- Rear exiting exhaust kit will NOT work with vehicles equipped with a differential cooler
Kit Includes:
- 1 Pair of 2" Stainless Longtube Headers
- 1 Three-inch Off-Road X-Pipe / Connection Pipe
- 1 Set of Zinc-Coated Header Bolts (upgrade to stainless ARP bolts available at checkout)
- 2 MLS Exhaust Gaskets Optional True Dual Exhaust System (select at checkout)
Optional: Speed Engineering LS Spark Plug Wires and Plug Wire Fire Sleeves can be added at the time of purchase.
Features:
- Full 2" Port-Matched Primary Tubes with Merge Spike — Maximum flow from cylinder head to collector for aggressive LS performance
- 3" Collector — Optimized for strong low-to-mid RPM torque
- Mandrel Bent Tubing — Consistent tube diameter through every bend; no crimping, no restriction
- CNC Machined Flanges — Precision fit at the head and collector for a leak-free seal
- 304 Natural Stainless Steel Construction — Corrosion resistant, heat tolerant, and built to last
- Improved Ground Clearance Over Competitors — Engineered with extra clearance, ideal for lowered C6 builds
- Longtube Header Design — Maximum scavenging efficiency vs. shorty or mid-length headers
- 3" X-Pipe with 2.75" Reducers to Factory Exhaust — For Base and GS applications
- 3" X-Pipe with 3" Connection — For Z06 applications
- Standard Graphite Manifold Gaskets Included
- Dyno Proven — 25+ RWHP gain on C6 Corvette applications
- Compatible with 6.0L LS2/LS6 and 6.2L LS3/LS9 and 7.0L LS7 Engines

FAQ
How much horsepower does this kit add to a C6 Corvette?
Speed Engineering's 2" longtube headers are dyno proven to add over 25 rear-wheel horsepower on C6 Corvette applications compared to stock exhaust manifolds.
What is the difference between the kit with and without true dual exhaust?
The standard kit includes the 2" longtube headers, 3" off-road X-pipe, header bolts, and MLS gaskets. The True Dual Exhaust upgrade adds a complete cat-back exhaust system for a full front-to-back stainless exhaust solution. Select your preferred option at checkout.
Will I get a check engine light after installing this kit?
Yes. The rear downstream O₂ sensors are not used with this system, which will trigger a catalyst efficiency code. This must be resolved through PCM tuning and cannot be cleared by simply resetting the ECU.
Will these work with my 4L60E transmission?
True dual exhaust does not work with early 4L60 transmissions without modification. A modification to the passenger side tube is required for 4L60E fitment. These headers work with 6 speed automatic and manual transmissions without modification.
Will the rear exiting exhaust kit work on my C6?
The rear exiting exhaust kit will NOT work with vehicles equipped with a differential cooler.
Are these headers good for lowered C6 Corvettes?
Yes. Speed Engineering specifically engineered these headers with improved ground clearance compared to competitors, making them a strong choice for lowered C6 builds.
What engines are these headers compatible with?
These headers are compatible with the 6.0L LS2/LS6, 6.2L LS3/LS9, and 7.0L LS7 engines found in 2005–2013 C6 Corvette Base, Z06, and ZR1 models.
What material are these headers made from?
304 natural stainless steel with full TIG-welded construction, CNC-machined flanges, and merge spikes.
Are these headers street legal?
No. These are race-only headers intended for closed-course competition use only. Installation on a street-driven vehicle may violate the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7522(a)(3)).
