The Texas Speed 6.2 LS Chopacabra Camshaft is the Max Chop Edition of the Chopacabra line, ground for stock 6.0L and 6.2L LS engines with LS3 and L92 style rectangular-port cylinder heads. Texas Speed built it around maximum overlap and a tight 108 degree lobe separation angle to produce the loudest idle it could while keeping lift moderate and adding solid midrange power.
Because lift stays at .550", the cam only requires LS6-style valve springs or better and is designed to run on stock-length pushrods, though Texas Speed advises checking pushrod length during installation. It works with a stock torque converter, with a 2,600 rpm or higher stall recommended for best performance. Texas Speed's published dyno graph was recorded on a 370 cubic inch LQ4-based engine at 10:1 compression with stock L92 heads, LS6-style springs, a stock L92/LS3 intake and 93 octane pump gas.

FAQ
What engines does the Texas Speed 6.2 LS Chopacabra cam fit?
The 6.2 LS Chopacabra is ground for stock 6.0L and 6.2L LS-based engines using LS3 or L92 style rectangular-port cylinder heads, such as the LS3, L99, L92, L9H, L76 and L96. It is the rectangular-port counterpart to the cathedral-port Chopacabra truck cam.
Do I need new valve springs for the 6.2 LS Chopacabra?
Yes, upgraded springs are required, but the .550" lift means LS6-style valve springs or better are enough. A dual spring kit is not required for this grind.
Will the 6.2 LS Chopacabra work with my stock torque converter?
Yes. Texas Speed states it works with the stock converter, but recommends a 2,600 rpm or higher stall converter for the best performance from the camshaft.
Do I need new pushrods with this camshaft?
The 6.2 LS Chopacabra is designed to run on stock pushrods. Texas Speed still recommends checking pushrod length during installation, since length can vary with the camshaft core, lifters and heads.
How does the Max Chop Chopacabra differ from the Chopacabra NSR?
Both share 216/230 duration and a 108 degree LSA for rectangular-port 6.0L and 6.2L engines. This Max Chop version uses .550" lift and needs LS6-style springs or better, while the NSR version uses .495" lift so it can run on stock valve springs.
What engine did Texas Speed use for the Chopacabra 6.2 dyno test?
Texas Speed recorded its dyno graph on a 370 cubic inch LQ4-based engine at 10:1 compression with stock L92 cylinder heads, LS6-style springs, a stock L92/LS3 intake manifold and 93 octane pump gas.
