The Texas Speed LT1 / L86 6.2L 3-Bolt Camshaft Kit is for owners converting a 2014 and newer Gen V 6.2L LT engine away from the factory VVT phaser and DOD/AFM system to a fixed three-bolt camshaft. Deleting VVT and AFM lets Texas Speed run more aggressive profiles than a factory-style cam allows, and Texas Speed develops its Gen V LT cams on its engine dyno using otherwise stock 6.2L LT1 engines to confirm power, drivability and safe piston-to-valve clearance.
The kit combines the buyer's choice of six Texas Speed LT1/LT4 3-bolt non-VVT camshafts, including Stage 1, Stage 2, Blower, Turbo, F-117 Stealth and EL-C7 grinds, with a Texas Speed Gen V .660" dual valve spring kit in either the LT1/L83/L86 or the 2015 and newer LT4 version and a set of 16 3/8" hardened chromoly pushrods in the selected length. A Texas Speed Gen V LT VVT delete kit is required and sold separately, as is a Gen V DOD/AFM delete kit if the engine still has AFM. Pushrod length should be verified during installation, and custom tuning is required.

Kit Includes
- Texas Speed LT1/LT4 3-bolt camshaft, no VVT (selected at ordering)
- Texas Speed Gen V .660" dual spring kit with PAC springs and titanium retainers, LT1/L83/L86 or LT4 version (selected at ordering)

Ordering Options
Three selections are required when ordering: the camshaft (Texas Speed Stage 1, Stage 2, Blower, Turbo, F-117 Stealth or EL-C7 LT1/LT4 3-bolt, no VVT), the pushrod length (7.825", 7.850" or 7.875") and the valve spring kit (Texas Speed Gen V LT1/L83/L86 .660" dual spring kit with PRC integrated seat/seal, or the 2015+ LT4 .660" dual spring kit). A rocker arm trunnion upgrade (Texas Speed or CHE) can be added or declined. The Texas Speed Gen V LT VVT delete kit is required for any 3-bolt camshaft and is not part of this kit, and a Gen V DOD/AFM delete kit is required if the engine still has AFM.
Note: A non-VVT 3-bolt camshaft requires a VVT delete conversion, and all Gen V LT camshaft upgrades require removal of the factory DOD/AFM system. Professional installation and tuning are required.
Note: Pushrod length should always be verified during installation. A camshaft with a +32% fuel lobe requires a lash cap and must not be used with an LT4 fuel pump.

FAQ
What is included in the Texas Speed LT1 / L86 3-bolt cam kit?
The kit includes your choice of six Texas Speed LT1/LT4 3-bolt non-VVT camshafts, a Texas Speed Gen V .660" dual valve spring kit with PAC springs and titanium retainers in the LT1/L83/L86 or LT4 version, and a set of 16 3/8" hardened chromoly pushrods in the length you select. A trunnion upgrade can be added.
Which camshafts are offered with the LT1 3-bolt kit?
Texas Speed offers the Stage 1 and Stage 2 LT1/LT4 3-bolt cams for naturally aspirated builds, the Blower and Turbo 3-bolt cams for power adders, the F-117 Stealth LT 3-bolt cam and the EL-C7 LT1/LT4 3-bolt cam. All are non-VVT grinds.
Do I need a VVT delete kit and a DOD delete kit with this cam kit?
Yes to both unless already done. A 3-bolt camshaft requires the Texas Speed Gen V LT VVT delete kit, and Texas Speed states every Gen V LT camshaft upgrade requires removal of the factory DOD/AFM system. Both are sold separately.
Which valve spring kit should I choose?
Choose the Texas Speed Gen V LT1/L83/L86 .660" dual spring kit with PRC integrated seat and seal for an LT1 or L86 head, or the 2015+ LT4 .660" dual spring kit if the engine uses LT4 cylinder heads. Both use PAC springs and titanium retainers.
What vehicles does the LT1 / L86 3-bolt cam kit fit?
Texas Speed lists it for 2014 and newer GM 6.2L LT1 and LT-based engines, with its finder naming the 2016 to 2024 Camaro SS and 2014 to 2019 Corvette. The 6.2L L86 and L87 trucks and SUVs share the engine family; confirm fitment with BPS for a truck application.
Is tuning required after installing a 3-bolt cam kit on an LT1?
Yes. Custom tuning is required after installation to run the non-VVT camshaft and disable the deleted VVT and AFM functions. Texas Speed also recommends professional installation and verifying pushrod length on the engine.
