The Texas Speed LS VVT Delete Kit converts a GM Gen IV LS engine equipped with Variable Valve Timing to a conventional fixed-timing 3-bolt camshaft setup. It is used when a non-VVT aftermarket camshaft is installed in a VVT engine such as the 5.3L, 6.0L or 6.2L found in 2007 to 2015 GM trucks, SUVs and the Camaro L99.
The kit includes an LS3 front timing cover to replace the VVT cover, a 3-bolt 4x cam gear and ARP camshaft bolts. A replacement cam position sensor is offered as an optional add-on for the LS3-style cover. A non-VVT camshaft is required when deleting VVT, since the factory VVT camshaft cannot be used with the fixed gear.

FAQ
What is included in the Texas Speed LS VVT Delete Kit?
The kit includes an LS3 front timing cover, a 3-bolt cam gear with a 4x reluctor and ARP camshaft bolts. A replacement cam position sensor for the LS3 cover is available as an optional add-on.
Which engines does the LS VVT delete kit fit?
Texas Speed lists it for Gen IV LS 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L and 6.2L engines equipped with Variable Valve Timing, found in 2007 to 2014 GM trucks and SUVs, the 2008 to 2014 Escalade and the 2010 to 2015 Camaro.
Do I need a different camshaft to delete VVT?
Yes. A non-VVT camshaft is required when deleting VVT. The factory VVT cam uses a single-bolt phaser and cannot be used with the 3-bolt fixed cam gear in this kit.
Why does the kit include an LS3 timing cover?
The factory VVT timing cover houses the phaser solenoid. The LS3 front cover replaces it with a conventional cover that accepts a standard cam position sensor, which is why Texas Speed offers the sensor as an add-on.
Do I need the optional cam position sensor?
The LS3-style cover uses a cam sensor in the front cover rather than the VVT solenoid. If the engine does not already have a compatible sensor, select the optional replacement cam sensor (28-12591720) when ordering.
