The Texas Speed 376ci Sleeved Gen V LT1/LT4 Short Block starts with a new Gen V aluminum block fitted with dry sleeves that are thicker and stronger than the factory sleeves, machined and assembled at the Texas Speed engine facility. It keeps the stock 3.622" stroke and is intended as a foundation for high-performance and boosted LT1 and LT4 builds where the factory block's cylinder walls are the limit.
The buyer configures the short block at ordering: Darton or Power Bore sleeves, a GM wet sump, GM dry sump, TSP forged dry sump or Callies Magnum crankshaft, Wiseco or Mahle Motorsports 2618 forged pistons at a 4.070" or 4.075" bore with lowered ring lands for nitrous or boost, and a 6.125" rod set from Texas Speed, Callies or BoostLine. The block can be supplied by the customer or a new GM Gen V block can be added. Oil and coolant plugs are pre-installed, and Texas Speed includes break-in oil with every engine. Texas Speed recommends not exceeding a 4.125" bore with a power adder.

FAQ
What is included in the Texas Speed 376ci Sleeved Gen V LT1/LT4 Short Block?
It includes a new Gen V aluminum block with Darton or Power Bore dry sleeves, the crankshaft, forged piston set and 6.125" rod set selected at ordering, pre-installed oil and coolant plugs, break-in oil, and a shipping cradle and crate. The block is machined and assembled by Texas Speed.
What engines and vehicles is this sleeved short block for?
Texas Speed builds it for Gen V 6.2L LT1 and LT4 stock-stroke combinations, which covers the 2014 to 2019 Corvette, 2016 and newer Camaro SS and ZL1, 2016 to 2019 CTS-V and 6.2L Gen V trucks and SUVs. Choose a wet sump or dry sump crankshaft to match the vehicle.
Why use a sleeved block instead of a factory LT1 block?
Texas Speed states the Darton or Power Bore dry sleeves are thicker and stronger than the factory sleeves, which makes the block a better foundation for high-horsepower and boosted LT builds than the stock casting.
Which piston should I choose for this LT short block?
Texas Speed offers Wiseco and Mahle Motorsports 2618 forged pistons with lowered ring lands in volumes from -2cc to -16cc. Smaller dishes raise compression for naturally aspirated use and deeper dishes lower it for boost or nitrous. Final compression depends on the heads and gasket used.
Can I supply my own Gen V block?
Yes. The Engine Block menu offers a customer-supplied block or a new GM Gen V block from Texas Speed. Either way the block is sleeved, machined and assembled at the Texas Speed facility.
Is break-in oil included with the short block?
Yes. Texas Speed includes break-in oil with every engine at no additional cost to protect the engine at startup and help the rings seal during break-in.
