The Holley HydraMat solves the fuel starvation problems associated with traditional pick-ups in stock tanks and racing fuel cells. During hard cornering, acceleration, braking, inclines, and low fuel conditions, fuel can run away from a conventional pick-up and introduce air into the system, causing poor performance or stalling. Surface tension and fluid wicking let the HydraMat draw fuel from nearly any area still in contact with fuel and hold it in an internal reservoir, so it keeps feeding the pump even as parts of the mat are uncovered.
