The CSF 8242 is an OEM-plus, high-performance recreation of the original Behr engine oil cooler for the 1965-1989 Porsche 911 (all variants, including E, L, S, SC, Carrera, and Turbo Carrera) and the 930 Turbo with the flat-six engine. It uses a modern tube-and-fin core with 7 cooling tubes and 8 rows of fins, about 10 percent more efficient than a new OEM unit and up to 25 percent more efficient than a used one, on a CNC-machined billet aluminum helix mounting plate with in-house-machined stainless steel fittings. Early cars (1965-1973) use an upgraded M30 widemouth fitting with a 17.5mm bore for about 50 percent more flow, while later cars (1974-1989) use a stainless slip-on style.
