It moves the fan forward on the water pump shaft so the blade sits in the correct position relative to the radiator and fan shroud, which improves airflow through the core. The spacer is machined from aluminum to keep rotating weight low.

Specifications:

Type: Belt-driven mechanical fan spacer

Spacer length: 2-1/4 inch

Material: Aluminum

Application: Repositions a belt-driven fan forward toward the radiator

Part number: 31540

FAQ

What does a fan spacer do?

It moves a belt-driven mechanical fan forward toward the radiator so the blade sits properly within the fan shroud for better airflow.

What is the Derale 31540 made of?

The 31540 spacer is machined from aluminum.

How thick is the 31540 spacer?

It provides 2-1/4 inches of forward spacing.
